Episode 34: Conquering Mawxwell Hill-Round 1

Theme:- The Chosen Four
Who:- Me, Chee Leong, Kok Leong and Gus
When:- 26th April 2009


7.00-7.30a.m.
-Chee Leong (together with Kok Leong and Gus inside the car) came to my house (baiknya) to fetch me.
-Reached Maxwell Hill.
- Warmed up
-Begin our hiking at 7.30a.m.

7.30-11.30a.m.
-After 15 minutes of hiking, Ah Kok complained of tiring already.
-Really tough to hike, since so long didn’t hike.
-A relief when we reached the 1st pondok, saw some uncles and aunties ‘yam cha’ at there.
-Rested for 5 minutes.

-Continued our hike.
-Saw one bugger running, Gus and Chee Leong ‘beh syok’ and say that he sure pomcat want. Maybe that fellar want to lansi kot….
- Joke and laugh all the way to 2nd pondok.
- Rested at 2nd pondok for a couple of minutes and then continue again.
- Gus said that we should take our breakfast at 3rd pondok. We mar like ok, since Gus been to the top before.

-After quite a long hike, pondok no.3 is nowhere to be seen. We curiously ask Gus whether the pondok is still far away or not. Gus kept insisting that the 3rd pondok is very near.
-After we ‘belived’ that Gus is talking the truth, we continue to hike some more, despite our stomach growling.
-Another 15 minutes of hiking, we ‘beh tong’ already.
-We stopped at the roadside.
- We sat down at the concrete-like- bench and had our light breakfast. I shared my mum’s homemade egg sandwich with them. Chee leong pula ate his ‘roti berkrim’ .
-While we were eating, there was a bunch of ‘natives’ ( you know who am I talking rite??)passed by us. Chee Leong overheard them saying that we were ‘uncles’(means that we were weak la).

-We continued our journey after 10 minutes of break.
-Kok Leong terus branded them as ‘monkeys’ after watching them do silly and stupid stuffs. (ex. mimicking monkey’s voice, throwing rocks to the trees)
-Continue searching for 3rd pondok (and Gus still insisting that it is nearby)
- Saw a few jeeps going up. Spotted a few ‘leng lui’s’ inside.

-Reached Tea Garden. (after approximately 40 minutes of hiking from the concrete place)
- Break a while at there. I ate my mum’s sandwich to gain energy.
- Kok Leong and Gus were busy gulping water. Chee leong pula went to a toilet (man-made 1, not natural) at there. After doing his ‘business’ he told us that it was the worst toilet he had ever been.
-Rested bout 5 minutes and then we continued our hiking.

-Lost sight of the ‘monkeys’ already.
- Reached the waterfall. Gus wanted to drink the water but reluctant to do so after Kok Leong and Chee Leong joked, ‘You know ar Gus.. The water u bout to drink are from the mixing of monkey’s pee + Uncle bathing on top and + Hiker’s spits…..’ We all LOL.
- Well it’s just a joke anyway.


-Still a long way to the top.
-Chee Leong started to listen to his mp3.
-Saw a jeep go up. Inside got a few boys. Ah Kok joked that if there were another jeep going up with boys inside, he will took off his shirt and wear a shirt with the words “Jeep are only for pussies!!!” written in it.
-We all laugh-out-loud again.
-Break at roadside to have a drink.
-Another 30 minutes of walking, and we finally reached our destination.


11.30-12.00
-We were so happy when we reached the tower. The structure of the tower reminded me of the tower from the movie ‘Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers’.
-Never forget to snap the beauty of the hills there. (check the pics below)
-After that, was the bridge. It also reminded me of the monkey bridge where our seniors built during scouts camp. Snap a few pics at there. (see below)











12.00p.m-3.00pm
-Reached the cafeteria.
-Ordered teh tarik.
-I did not ordered any food cause still haven't finish eating egg sandwich. Ah Kok ordered nasi lemak. Quite cheap. Only RM1.50. And its satisfying. (according to Kok Leong la)
-After our stomach finished digesting the food, we resume our journey. (sek pau mou ye chou)





-We arrived to a wooden table and chair where we could not ressist the temptation of looking to something. (not girls yea, we are not pervert).
- It was the most beautiful sight that I’ve ever saw. The view of the whole Taiping town!!!
-I could not imagine that Taiping was such a huge town. We were all busy snapping the beauty of Taiping town. (Check the pics below. We forgotten to bring camera go. (aherm) So the quality of the pics is kinda sucks. )
-Gus was busy finding Tesco la, Taiping Sentral la..
-After staring at the perfect view of Tpg, we resume back our journey.












-Reached Cendana Hut and Café.
-Took a stroll around there.
-Break.
-There was a road up in front from the place we were resting. We debated whether we should continue hiking or not as we were out of energy already.
- All of us agreed of continuing the hiking.







-After a few metres of walking, my legs started to hurt. A kind Kok Leong (tipu punya) borrow me his Yoko-Yoko to help me relieve the pain. It did not help anyway.
-Chee Leong pula continue listening to his mp3.
-It was quite a long journey (approximately one hour of hiking from the Cendana) to the communication tower.
-Along, we saw a huge bee hive. It’s so big that it reminded me of Siew Hoong’s head. Lol. Its just a joke yea.. Too bad we forgot to snap a picture of it. We even debated again whether we should continue or not as the road lead us to nowhere.

But finally….

We reached it!!! The communication tower!!! Highest point if Maxwell Hill!!!










I am so glad that we did not stop halfway at there. Its definitely worth it.

2.00 pm
-Back at cafeteria
-Gus, me and Kok Leong ate Maggi cup. Chee Leong special 1. He ate Ramen, specially imported from Japan 1 lor.. Together with chopstick some more. All we had was plastic fork nia…
-As expected, a cup of noodles was not enough for Ah Kok. He went in (the cafeteria) and ordered a piece of drumstick.

3.00pm
-To end our journey, we took a jeep down to the foot of Maxwell. We were lucky enough that there was a jeep there to take us down. If not, we will have to walk down already.
-It costed us RM 4 each.
-We went back to our home sweet home around 3.45pm

It was indeed a one hell of a hike. We were all exhausted. But I am very thankful that I was given a lifetime experience with my buddies.

Episode 33- Barcelona Conquered Rome... (and Seik San's house)

Episode 32- Barcelona Conquered Rome

What a nite.

The fans. The stadium. The players. The atmosphere.

It was absolutely outstanding. There is no better word to describe that.

Barcelona conquered Rome that nite with a superb display of possession, proving again that football is still the best game in the planet. The Catalans outclassed the Devils with an excellent 2-0 win in the the Staduim Olimpico, Rome. Goals from Samuel E’to and Lionel Messi had earned Barca as a rightful UCL champions.

Barca was dominating the whole game since the start of the first minute. Superb play from Puyol, Pique, Xavi and Iniesta were the key factors that helped Barca to clinch the title. Puyol played an excellent right back to stop Ronaldo from terrorizing the defense. Barca playmakers, Xavi and Iniesta produce amazing through balls and crosses that that was enough to crushed Man U’s dream of retaining the title.

On the 10th minute, Cameroon striker , Samuel E’to opened up the scoring to give Barca an early lead. E’to dribbled past Vidic and produce an unstoppable shot past keeper, Van Der Sar. United’s morale went down after the first goal. However, United had a couple of chances, but it was not enough to salvage a point.

In the 2nd half, Barca still maintain their possession. There was a freekick awarded to Barca. Xavi took the stunning freekick and it almost went in, but the post denied it. Ji Sung-Park had a great opportunity to equalize after a cross from Rooney, but the ball was too high for him to head in. In the 70 minutes, Messi’s magic proved that he is much better that Ronaldo. A devastating cross from Iniesta to Messi, totally unmarked and produce a stunning header past the keeper. After that, Devils were playing rough especially Scholes and Ronaldo.

In the end of the game, you could see Barca fans went wild in the stadium. During the medal giving ceremony, you could also see that all Man U’s player were in sour face. They produce a very poor display that nite. As a result, they were outplayed.

Episode 31- See You In Rome

Don’t get the idea that I’m going to Rome, okay??

All eyes are on the upcoming UEFA Champions League (UCL) final at the Stadium Olimpico (in Rome) and both teams are out to create history.

Well, the two teams are the recently crowned EPL champions, Man United (a.k.a Red Devils) and the Catalan Giant, Barcelona.

The Devils will be looking to add another silverware in their cabinet to complete a sweep of quardruple cups and Barca are out to bag a historic trebel in Guardiola’s first season in charge.

Alex Ferguson’s side will also be hoping to retain the UCL title and become the first ever Europe team to retain the title. The Catalans will definitely be out to stop the Devils from clinching the title.

The road to the final of UCL, came in for United when they thrashed Arsenal in a 4-1 aggregate match. In the 1st leg the only goal of the game from O’Shea gave the Devils the lead. Then in the 2nd leg, the dreams of going to Rome for Arsenal had perished. Goals from Ji-Sung Park and Ronaldo crushed Arsenal’s dream and left them another year without a throphy. Although I’m a Gunner fan, I could not stop myself from hailing Ronaldo’s magic throughout that match. The superb freekick (from Ronaldo) and great tactics between him and Rooney are simply tantalizing. They just got me glued on my sit for the full 90 minutes .

Meanwhile, the other UCL match between Chelsea and Barcelona is another spectacular one. Both teams are evenly strong and it’s tough to predict which team will make it to the final. In the 1st leg, both teams drew 0-0 at the Nou’s Camp(Barca’s home)with Barca dominating the whole game. In the 2nd leg at Stamford Bridge, Michael Essien gave the Blues the lead by scoring a superb volley. The Blues managed to hold the Catalans until extra time. Well, if you gonna think that Chelsea will be going to another final encounter with Man U, think again. During extra time, the Blues fans cheered and whistled as they were so confident that their team will go to Rome. Then, on the 93rd minute(correct me if I’m wrong), the whole crowd was silenced. The magic from Iniesta put Barca in the final against Man U. As Messi give a one-touch ball to him,Iniesta wasted no time to strucked a magnificent shot to the top corner leaving Petr Cech in agony. The Blues were so dejected. And there is more. A couple of seconds before the whistle ends, a shot from Ballack(correct me if I’m wrong again)in the penalty box hit the arm of one Barca’s player. Its clearly a penalty. But referee Tom Ovrebo denied it. The score settled at 1-1. At the end of the game, while the Catalans celebrated their win, the Blues confronted Overbro with frustrations and anger. Reports said that Ovrebo did not gave at least 4 penalties to Chelsea. To rub salt into Chelsea’s wound, the Blues striker, Didier Drogba was expected to face a lenghty ban in the UCL next season. This is because he ranted the F-word in front of the television cameras. Even Guus Hiddink and four security officers struggled to prevent the finger jabbing striker from venting at the referee.

The Red Devils and the Catalans will face off against each other in a spectecular showdown and expect no mercy from the 2 giants.

Episode 30-Dear Mom

I’ve been planning to write this post for quite a long time. But I cant seem to find the right time to publish it, until yesterday I remembered that today 27th of April is my Mom’s birthday. Yup, today is a very special day for her and I would like to take this opportunity to publish this post today. Here is a little message for my Mom..


Dear Mom,

For over 17 years, I know that I had not been a good boy. I tend to make you angry and sad because of my foolish attitude. But you never hated or punish me for the mistakes that I’ve done. Instead you gave me advise on how to improve my self better. Although your income is little, you never fail to buy expensive electronic gadgets (handphone, psp) whenever we (my bro and I) asked for it. Moreover, you had always bring us to eat good food. You’ve always make time to fetch us to tuition, meetings despite your busy schedule. All these sacrifices you made, I will remember it forever.


Thank you mom for bringing joy and happiness in my life. When times are bad, you never fail to bring smiles upon our faces. Thank you mom (and dad) for taking care of me. When I am sad, you guys are there to comfort me. When I am sick, you guys quickly bring me to the clinic. I am truly grateful of that. And lastly I would like thank you mom for giving birth to me. Thank you for bringing me to this world. This is the best gift that I ever had. I’ll promised that one day, I will make you and dad be proud of me.


I am sorry for all my wrong doings in the past. I’m sorry too for not buying a birthday present for you. Instead, I would like to make this post as a birthday present for you. I hope that you and dad will be blessed with great health and longevity.

Episode 29: I'm Back!!!

Its been almost 2 month since I wrote my last post. I just cant believe that time really flies so fast. The month of March had been a significant month for those SPM students. I believe that this month will be the turning point of life to those students . This will mark a new chapter of life for them as they will embark on a journey to become an adult. Whether you are ready or not, you are gonna face countless of boundaries ahead of you in the future. Stay strong to face it and remember never ever give up…


First of all, I would like to congratulate to Chee Leong, Foo Mun and Jason Liew who managed to get JPA schorlaship. You guys really deserve it. Bright future defenitely awaits you all. Good luck in your interview and FM, you better start learning French now!!! Lol.


Furthermore, I would like to welcome back my NS friends that is Siew Hoong, Chong Ren and Ern Wei. Its great to see you guys again. You guys really look handsome in bald. Haha. Juz joking. Looking you all in bald really reminds me of my recruit training.


Moreover , I would bid farewell to Kenny and and Chan as both of them had already went to Taylor’s College a week ago. And also to Kar Chun, that will be going to Despark in Penang. I hope that you will learn lots of automobil skills there. Not to forget William that already gone to NS. I hope you will make lots of friends there.


Last but not the least, I would like to wish good luck to my 2 college friends who are currently studying in Taylor’s College. Xian Yung, please don’t arrive late anymore in class. Haha.You only got 5 more months only to complete your SAM. I am rooting for you. Gambateh!! Seik San, please make sure he complete his assignment ok?? Lol. And to Chan Leong who is currently studying in UNITEN, I wish u good luck in everything you do. I heard you goin Japan rite?? Remember to buy some souvenirs back ok?? Haha.
