Yesterday, I went to school for my librarian duty at 4pm. The whether was kinda want-rain-duwan-rain like dat. But fortunately I reached school without getting my clothes soaked.
Pei Chern was the shift leader on that day (she always give me ‘penyusunan’ one). No duty on that day. Stock check was carried out on that day. So everyone must do ‘penyusunan’ Great.
As I carried some books to one shelves to another, something caught my attention. It was a book la. But I got the feeling that the book was calling for me…
To satisfy my curiosity, I took out the book (it was thick and has a hard cover) from the shelve.
Gosh, man. I cant believe it man. The book with the words “The International Bestsellar” was right in front of my eyes. I feel in love with it instantly. No doubt bout it.
What would such a popular book (even popular than Stephanie Meyer’s Twillight) was doing inside SGI library???
So today, after Mr.Teh’s account class, (boring as ever) armed with my librarian tag, I raced to the library, hoping the book was still there.
So I grab the book (and hug it) and walked to the library office. I clicked on the computer to register myself as the borrower of the book.
“Saya nak pinjam buku ini kak.” I replied.
“Tak boleh pinjam hari ini. Kan ada stock check.” said the Kakak.
“Tunggu stock check habis dulu.” she replied.
“Kak, betul tak boleh pinjam?? I asked for one last time, hoping she will agree.
“Tak boleh” she said.
For a moment I thought I could borrow the book… But now…. Have to wait till stock check is done.
I reluctantly put back the book into the shelves, and head to the exit with a sour face.
Lady luck had not abandoned me after all. Without wasting any time, I ran towards the shelve and took out Dan Brown’s masterpiece and have it processed.
As soon as I went back to my class, I stared flipping the pages. Interesting, I must say. Having read the comments, especially one that says….
“A heart racing thriller. The story has so many twists that it would be a sin to reveal too much of the plot in advance. Lets just say that if this novel doesn’t get your pulse racing, you need to check your meds” –San Francisco Chronicle-
burned my desire to read up the book.
So thanks a lot to Dato’ Ng Tieh Chuan for donating such a marvelous book to the library. The Lost Symbol in the future perhaps??
This book is highly recommended, and if you are a SGI, you should borrow it. But must wait me finish first la.
