Episode 47- Recap 2010 (Part 1)

2010. What a rollercoaster year it had been.

Yup, I was in that rollercoaster and indeed it was one heck of a ride. There were so many ups and downs throughout 2010 and I believe that there will be more waiting for me in the future.

Recapping back those events happened throughout 2010 is definitely not an easy task as there were so alot to recall. During that process, I somehow reflected back my actions and I felt that I am still far from maturing into an adult.

Several classmates of mine often teased me ‘gina’. I knew that what they said were just for laughs, but as I think about it I sometimes do deserve to be called that. Maybe its because the way I communicate (I often insert unnecessary jokes, making the conversation looked childish) or the actions that I did. (no doubt that I am a very playful guy) Or maybe its because of my FACE? LOL. I seriously hoped that its not the last one.

In 5 months time, I am gonna be 20, meaning that I’ll no longer be a teenager anymore but a man that is ready to step out from the comfort zone. In order to do that, I must first change my personality, the way I speak, the way I dress, the way I act, everything. It is only then I can be a respectable man. And I certainly don’t want others to call me a ‘kid’ in the future.

Therefore, my resolution for 2011 is transform to myself from a playful good for nothing kid to a MATURE young guy that is ready to take on the world. And I am gonna start off with this piece of writing...

Recap 2010 will continue in the next episode!!

Episode 46: Ho Yeah!!

*ho yeah means very good in Cantonese*

Wa seh!!! Finally done with the new layout of my blog. It took me quite a long time to customize it.

I decided to change it because the old layout kinda look dull and boring. And a also, I notice some of my blogmates, Kenny and SN to name a few, changed their layout background, so I follow them lor.. Haha.

Browsed through Pyzam at first, but I cant seem to pick any layout which is suitable which my taste. Some were too ‘awesome’. So if I were to place them as my blog layout, I afraid readers might prefer to view the background rather than reading the contents. So I opted for Blogger layouts instead. Hmmm, not bad i must say. Really like the one Kenny having now.

So, what ya guys think of my new layout?? Do drop some comments at the comment box yo!!

Holidays are just around the corner and I just cant wait for it this time. How long?? 2 weeks.

Wait a minute.. Did I just say 2 weeks??
Hell yeah!!! 2 weeks of awesomeness!!!!

Really looking forward to reunite with my classmates during Raya Break. And I can already smell the joy of hanging out with them this time.

Agenda for the 2 weeks?? Tai-o, Prima, TS, Sepetang, football field or some random friends house. (Chin’s house the best!!) Maybe got hike Maxwell Hill or even a trip to Penang. Hope so la..

The 2010/11 BPL season just started 3 weeks ago and I am so excited over it. For 3 consecutive weeks, I never fail to catch the live telecast of Arsenal’s matches together with my dad.

Arsenal’s 1st match was with Liverpool and it ended with a draw, with both the club’s new signing got sent in that match. Them it continued with an excellent 6-0 thrashing of Blackpool and lastly a 2-1 hard earn win over aggressive Blackburn Rovers.

Arsenal's Theo Walcott scoring a hat-trick against Blackpool

FM’s 1 month stay in Malaysia is just like Usain Bolt completed his 100m race only. Time seriously fly so freaking fast.

The first time I met him after a year was in Prima and that moment is still fresh in my mind. And just last week I had bid farewell to him at SS’s house. Damn, I already started to miss his random jokes already. Really wish his stay was longer.

I am glad that we had a farewell party for FM at SS’s house on the other nite. Seriously, it was fun. Ask CR and he’ll tell you why.

As what Kenny said in his post, the highlight for the nite was.. of course FAT ORCHID!!! Too bad for those who absent for, cuz i aint gonna reveal it here either. Lol

Episode 45: M-M (Part 2)

MAY

1. Lower 6 Orientation

A quite disappointing batch I must say, in a sense that not much of pretty and hot chicks enrolling to ST.George this year. The total number of students enrolling was much lesser compared to last year’s batch, which is my batch.

The orientation for L6 usually lasted for 5 days and I was in charge for all the activities and sessions on Day 2. Basically my job was to tell the story of the founder of our school that is ST.John Baptist de La Salle. (and its not ST.George mind you!!!) Its like a story telling session la.. together with a simple slideshow and some short sketches as well.

I would be lying if I said that I’m not nervous for the session. It was my first time of carrying out such a session… imagine yourself talking in front of 80+ students!!

The night before, I had the worst case scenarios that I could think of. Students talking and sleeping during session, blackout, etc etc… I had a sleepless nite.

Thank GOD my plan worked well on that day. My plan of carrying out an ice-breaking session before my talk, received an overwhelming response. I really did not expect that to happen. Throughout my session, all those scenarios did not occur. (Thank GOD again!!!) The students were listening to my talk and I did not caught anyone sleeping either.

Special thanks to the Regional Boys who helped me to carry out the session successfully.. by performing a few simple sketches.

I must say that, I do gain a vast experience from it.

2. Birth of a new ball-Jabulani

I went out kai kai together with Joo Gin and Chee Leong. We went to ANW first to grab our lunch. After lunch, we could not decide where to go. Cinema?? Sorry, no nice movie. MCD?? We just had ANW!!!

Suddenly out of no where…

“How about playing badminton??”

Chee Leong and I were stunned for 1 second I tell ya.. Those words were uttered by Joo Gin of couse. So random wei!!!

The question arised.. Where the hell are we gonna play?? We cant go CRC cuz CL and JG already 19 years, meaning that they were no longer member anymore.

After that I decided to tell them that I wanted to buy a new ball. So, off we go to Weng’s Sport Shop!!

I ask the taukeh for a football and he recommended me a Jabulani, the official ball for World Cup. Very nice. The price also very nice. Guess how much was the price of the ball?? RM150!!

Siow ar!! I where got so a lot of money??

So u settled for a cheaper ball. Its still Jabulani. But a different one. View the pics and you’ll know. Bought it for RM50. The 3 of us played football (yea, just the 3 of us only) before calling it a day.

My precious ball

3. Birthday Wishes!!!

29th of May. An ordinary day for everyone, but a special day for me. I’ve received tons of birthday wished on my FB wall. It just put a smile on my face and made my day even better.

I just wanna spell the word T-H-A-N-K-S to my parents, relatives and of course my friends for celebrating this meaningful day with me.

4. 3-in-1 Disease

2 hours before my birthday ended.. Damn!! I caught a fever. I felt so icing cold wei.. Although the fan volume was turned on to 2, I could feel that I was in the North Pole. Had to wear jacket some more.

Things got worst the next morning. Phlegm and mucus were torturing me the whole day. My mucus wouldn’t stop flowing down my nostrils and I cant seem to stop coughing out phlegm.

Couldn’t study at all. The next day sumore got exam. It took me at least 3 days for me to recover.

Episode 44- M-M (Part 1)

stands for March-May. Couldn’t think of an eye catching title for this post.

Mid-year exams just over. Somehow, this indicates that the ‘real thing’ is getting closer. Trials is only 2-3 months away, in August I think (correct me if I am wrong).

My mid-year exams?? I screwed up my ACC (again!!!) and PA paper. Econ and Business were just fine.

I was so caught up with work these few months that I almost lost interest in blogging. The number of posts in my blog archive had been slowly decreasing from year to year.

A lot of events happened this past few months. So I would to take this opportunity to tell you guys how I’ve been doing so far.

Without further ado, let’s check out these events.

MARCH-APRIL

1. Photo-session!!!

You would not believe me if I told you this. There was this period of time where a few classmates of mine (including me) started to bring cameras to school. It lasted about 2 weeks and the surprise is, we managed to bring without being caugt!!!

This is all thanks to Yew Cheong. Afterall, he was the Student Affair Prefect. He is the one conducts all the spot checks. So… well you know what am I talking right???

Having fun in class. The girl u see was indeed a scary girl.

2.MUET

We had our MUET practice during that 2 weeks as well. Mr.Koay, our MUET teacher told us that this practice served as a purpose to help us to get used to the situation of talking among when the real exam come.

Our MUET exam was divided into 2. The first one was in April and the other was in May. The exam in April comprises all the sections (writing, reading and listening) minus the speaking, which will be carried out in May.

Here are some of our MUET practise pics...

This guy har.. although gt speaking practice also, he can take so easily 1. Lol

Episode 43: Till We Meet Again...

Last month, I bid farewell to one of my best friends, Gus.

Yup, he went to Korea on a JPA scholarship and he will only be back to Malaysia August next year. Gosh, gonna miss him a lot.

Gus and I were regular “customers” in Taman Tasik and that explained why we were close to one another. Accompanied by Kok Leong, Chee Leong, Jason Lew, and Geet, we formed a group called “Taman Tasik Gang” la. We would either jog or take a stroll around the tranquil lake. And when its time to take a break, we would sit at our usual place nearby the golf ball sambil chitchatting.

“Hey Gus. Had you seen any pretty chicks??”
“Got meh?? My nightstalker eye not detecting anyone leh..”
“ I guess they would be either reading a book or tengah gossiping at house”
“ Too bad they missed the opportunity to witness 5 fit bachelors here”

Everyone would then bursted to laughter.

And when the clock strikes 6pm, we all would get on our bikes and rempit go to Prima to have our refreshments.

“Aunty the cina ais satu!!!”

Everyone would start to crack up as many jokes as possible. We would like laugh non-stop until the whole Prima also can hear us.

Remember show our membership card to get free eggs people. Lol.
The uncle selling DVD. Chee Leong is his no.1 customer.
Kok Leong, remember the egg tart punya daughter?? Hardly sees her now.
The teh cina ais got alcohol rite, Gus??? Lol

At night we formed another gang called the “Fuc**d UP Gang”. The mastermind behind it was Kok Leong. Our usual place??? My house!!!

Fu**ed Up Gang

Haha. Dunoe who suggest this brilliant idea 1. Before coming to my house, we would ta pow burger or ooblong from the burger stall in front of Prima. I must say the burger tastes the best in Taiping!!!

It seems like this year I will not only bid farewell to Gus. Chan Leong and Soon Cheon too will be leaving Malaysia on JPA scholarship. Well, CL will be going to meet Obama in US whereas SC will fly to Canada.

Not to mention, our Bakat a.k.a Xian Yung.. Together with Seik San at Taylor’s College, they will be studying their 1st year degree and he told me that he wont be coming back to Taiping during holidays. This is because this year is very important to him.

Despite all those goodbyes, i’ll be saying hello to Leong “The Legend” FM in July!!!

Yup, the moonwalker-turn- Bee gees will be rocking Taiping in a few months time. He is gonna surprise you with his Bee Gees punya hairstyle. Damn, I got so a lot to talk to him man.

To end my post, I wished you all good luck in your studies.

*Gus, you better bring back Girls Generation’s autograph for me!!! Nine of them!!! Nine!!!!*

Episode 42: I Am In Debate Competition!!!!

YOU WISH!!!!!

Recently, I browsed through my old posts (you guys must be wandering how the hell I got so much time). Not my blog only but others as well. I found out that 3 in 1 shampoo’s blog really attracted me the most. I really like the way you guys sum up a story together. Post like “Day One (kick an ass trip to P.Penang), Who’s The Sushi King Now??” and “Journey To The North 1,2,3 and 4 (I still laugh my ass out when I hear Gunaraj’s name) are awesome piece of writing. No doubt bout that. No matter how many times I read those posts, I’ll never get bored of it. Seriously.

Anyway, back to the title. I never participated in debate competitions before. Cuz, I do not have the passion or interest in debating. But, I like to argue things out with other people when I think something is not right. Its more like asking questions like “What happen if you… Why you must do like that...Like this kenot meh? If you do like that…” For instance, my F4 Chemistry teacher ordered us (bunch of 4SC2 students) to copy notes from the whiteboard. I refuse to write those notes down, because the information at the whiteboard were all from the textbook (she copied it exactly from the textbook to the whiteboard). She found out that I wasn’t copying her notes.

Therefore she asked me to stand up and asked for an explaination. I mar go tell her that “Teacher, what’s the point of copying the same notes to our notebook where you can get it from the textbook??? Its not like I am gonna use the notebook for my revision right??” There was reason why my friends called her “volcano”. So after listening to my complain, she “erupted” and I got a scolding from her.

Terima kasih cikgu kerana buat saya “bersalin” banyak banyak.

There was one particular old post of mine that really reflects my asking-question attitude. Err.. I think you might wanna read it first before you continue on.

About 2 years go I wrote a post about how boring and dull Taiping Sentral (TS) was. Of course, before I wrote the post I already knew that I might bombarded with comments especially from the “Taiping Sentral-Haters” haters. Little did I knew that the people were actually 3 in 1 shampoo members. Gosh!!

I got bombarded with long comments from them. Haha. I think the longest comment was from FM. After reading his comment, you would probably realized the reason why he was member of SGI debate team that went all the way to the semis in the national debate tournament (correct me if I am wrong). Not to mention Kok leong and Kenny ones as well. And a few from Chan Leong and Chong Ren.

It gives me satisfaction when I read up those comments. It simply gives me a thought that my blog actually being read by my friends out there. I mean that’s the whole purpose of blogging rite?? So, when there are comments whether is good or bad (of course I would preferred the good ones la) it gives me the eagerness to reply each and every comments.

Mr.Koay, now my MUET sensei, taught me this idiom, “Write To Read”. It simply defines that what you write is for others to read. I doubt myself whether I can attract people or not to read up my blog when I first started blogging. My English was simply not good enough and I don’t possessed the ability to make my story interesting to read. I really admired the way FM wrote his stories. It is outstanding I must say. His style of writing really unique and you can always find humour in it.

I must admit that TS really upgraded a lot for the past years. Yea, I complained about the lack of entertainment in TS in my blog before. The massive transformation of TS cleared my doubts already. You can see people shooting hoops at the playground, singing at the karo-ok, playing pool and skates at the skating ring.

But I am still disappointed with the absence of major bookstores in TS. I really like books. The problem is, whenever I wanna purchase a book I have to go all the way to KL. Because only Borders or Kinokuniya got these types of books. (I dunnoe bout Ipoh la) So I am still hoping that in the near future we can see major bookstores at TS.

Episode 41: Walk The Talk

Juz wanna dedicate this song to all the delegates of 19th Lasallian Leaders Convention. I am glad that i met with you all. Hope we will meet again in the future.

We are companions on the way
Sharing dreams and sharing life
And in the life we lead and the road we take
We can make dreams come true

In faith like La Salle, we’re called to show the way
To share and to live his dream
To ev’ry woman, child and man, will learn to be free
To live in harmony

We will walk the talk
We will touch the hearts with love
It’s the reason, we’ll share in the dream
And in the world of pain, we are the hopes of life
And in the darkness, we’re called to be
Lights of our world

Our futures- they seem so far away
But our tommorows are decided today
For it’s a time to care and a time to heal
A change starts with you and me

From La Salle we draw strength, to practice what we preach
In caring for the world today
In giving everyone, we learn to receive
To make this world a better place

We will walk the talk
We will touch the hearts with love
It’s the reason, we’ll share in the dream
And in the world of pain, we are the hopes of life
And in the darkness, we’re called to be
Lights of our world

There’s a tension within to give or to take
To touch every heart or lose all that’s at stake
The choice is yours and the choice is mine
To build the world with humanity

We will walk the talk
We will touch the hearts with love
It’s the reason, we’ll share in the dream
And in the world of pain, we are the hopes of life
And in the darkness, we’re called to be
Lights of our world
